Route Overview
The railway route from Krung Thep Aphiwat (Bang Sue Grand Station) to Ayutthaya Railway Station is operated by the KiHa 40/48 train, which was donated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), Japan. It now runs as the State Railway of Thailand “Bangkok Connex” suburban service. The train departs from Krung Thep Aphiwat and stops at: Don Mueang, Rangsit, Chiang Rak, Thammasat University, Chiang Rak Noi, Khlong Phutsa, Bang Pa-in, Ban Pho, and Ayutthaya. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The following train services operate on this route: 9001, 9002, 9003, 9004, 9005, and 9006. Trains 9001 and 9002 run on weekdays only (Monday–Friday); services 9003, 9004, 9005 and 9006 run every day. Remark: Free (unreserved) seating — no need to book in advance. Simply buy your ticket at the station counter before boarding.
