Thonburi Railway Station (also known to locals as Bangkok Noi) is one of Bangkok’s terminal stations and the starting point for the famous Death Railway line [ Bangkok Thonburi to Namtok ] to Kanchanaburi, home of the Bridge over the River Kwai, and on to the end of the line at Nam Tok near the Sai Yok waterfalls. The station is much quieter than Krung Thep Aphiwat and has a relaxed local atmosphere. If you’re taking Train 257 to Kanchanaburi, arriving around 30–45 minutes early gives you time to buy tickets and choose a window seat on the left-hand side for better views along the historic Death Railway.
